Experience: 5+ years in Product Design (SaaS, B2B, or data-heavy products)
About North
The public cloud is rapidly evolving, with businesses investing over $200B annually in cloud technology. As AI accelerates demand for scalable infrastructure, cloud costs are soaring, and most teams still rely on spreadsheets to manage them.
At North, we’re building the next-generation cloud spend management platform. We give companies real-time visibility, control, and automation over their cloud finances, so they can grow efficiently, without wasting time or money.
Backed by top-tier investors and trusted by global customers like Brave, The New York Public Library, and SumUp, we’re assembling a world-class team to redefine how businesses manage cloud infrastructure.
About the Role
We’re hiring a Product Designer to own end-to-end UI/UX across our platform. You’ll lead the design process from early discovery and wireframes to high-fidelity execution and production-ready specs.
This is a role for someone who lives in Figma, thinks in systems, and cares deeply about crafting intuitive, elegant experiences for complex financial and technical workflows. Our product sits at the intersection of engineering, finance, and AI and your job is to make it feel simple.
You’ll work closely with Product, Engineering, and CEO to simplify cloud cost management, forecasting, and optimization , translating dense FinOps concepts into intuitive, beautiful software used by technical and business stakeholders alike.
This is a high-ownership, 0→1 environment where design has real leverage.
What You’ll Do
- Own end-to-end design across major product areas: dashboards, analytics views, automation workflows, forecasting tools, and AI-driven experiences.
- Lead discovery efforts: user research, stakeholder interviews, journey mapping, and problem framing.
- Translate complex financial and infrastructure data into clean, usable interfaces.
- Design wireframes, high-fidelity mocks, interactive prototypes, and detailed production-ready specifications.
- Build and evolve our design system in Figma (components, auto layout, tokens, interaction patterns).
- Partner closely with Engineering to ensure pixel-perfect implementation and thoughtful interaction design.
- Collaborate with Product to shape roadmap decisions through design thinking and user insight.
- Simplify dense workflows (commitments, cost allocation, anomaly detection, forecasting) into intuitive user journeys.
- Continuously improve usability through iteration, feedback loops, and experimentation.
What We’re Looking For
- 5+ years of experience designing modern SaaS products (B2B preferred).
- Strong mastery of Figma (components, auto layout, variants, prototyping, design systems).
- Deep understanding of information architecture and interaction design.
- Experience designing for data-heavy or analytics-driven products.
- Ability to translate complex technical or financial concepts into intuitive UX.
- Strong systems thinking with the ability to be able to design scalable patterns, not just individual screens.
- Excellent collaboration skills; comfortable working closely with engineers and product managers.
- Startup mindset for comfortable operating with ambiguity and building structure from scratch.
- Based in New York City and excited to collaborate in-office (hybrid, Dumbo Brooklyn).
- Experience contributing to or owning a design system at scale.
- Experience working on products with technical users (engineers, DevOps, finance teams).
- Comfort running usability testing or lightweight research.
- Passion for turning complexity into clarity.
Nice to Have
- Experience in FinTech, DevOps, Cloud Infrastructure, or FinOps environments.
- Experience designing dashboards, forecasting tools, reporting systems, or AI-powered interfaces.
- Familiarity with AWS/GCP concepts or cost management tools.
Work Setup
Hybrid role based in New York City, with an office in Dumbo, Brooklyn.
