About the Role

We’re looking for a Senior Software Engineer, Platform to design and operate the foundational systems that power North.

This role exists to remove infrastructure burden from product engineers and enable the rest of the engineering organization to move faster, safer, and with higher confidence.

You’ll own cloud access patterns, CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure-as-code, and production operations, while building platform services that operate securely across hundreds of customer cloud environments.

This is a hands-on role with real ownership. You’ll work closely with our CTO, backend engineers, product, and data teams to turn complex FinOps problems into reliable, scalable platform primitives.

What You’ll Work On

• Modularizing and automating the infra deployment and maintenance
• AI-driven development for documentation, security, review automation
• Designing and building scalable platform services that power North’s commitment management, cost allocation, and optimization engines
• Developing secure Cloud Provider integrations using least-privilege, read-only, multi-account access patterns
• Building automation that operates safely across many customer cloud environments in real time
• Owning infrastructure-as-code, deployment pipelines, and production operations
• Improving reliability, observability, performance, and cost efficiency of North’s core platform
• Designing CI/CD systems that reduce deployment time, risk, and operational overhead
• Defining best practices around availability, fault tolerance, security boundaries, and system ownership
• Partnering with product and data teams to translate complex FinOps requirements into robust platform systems

What We’re Looking For

Nice to Haves

• Experience with FinOps, cost optimization, billing, or cloud commitments
• Familiarity with Savings Plans, Reserved Instances, or usage-based pricing models
• Experience operating multi-tenant SaaS platforms
• Background in startups or high-growth engineering teams
• Exposure to AI/ML infrastructure (data pipelines, inference, observability)

Work Setup

• US Remote/ Hybrid with access to our office in Dumbo, Brooklyn
• We value in-person collaboration but optimize for focus and execution

Compensation

• $160,000–$200,000 base salary, depending on experience
