Overview of the role

We are looking for a passionate Senior System Engineer to Participate with the Infrastructure team in building & maintaining AxisPay Datacenters, in terms of physical hosts & servers installation, configuration & operation.

What you'll be doing

• Participate with the Infrastructure team in building & maintaining AxisPay Datacenters, in terms of physical hosts & servers installation, configuration & operation.
• Understand technical requirements from different departments and be able to translate them to applicable settings.
• Work with infrastructure team members on Creating both High-level & Low-level Designs.
• Participate in applying the organization's security policy.
• Responsible for internal systems configuration, maintenance, and operations, including but not limited to:
  • Operating Systems
  • Storage Management & Configuration
  • Backup Policy
  • Business Continuity Plan
  • Applying security policies
  • Access Management
  • Anti-Virus & EDR configuration
  • Vulnerabilities Scans & Assessments
• Research and recommend innovative, and where possible automated approaches for system administration tasks.
• Perform daily system monitoring, verifying the integrity and availability of all hardware, server resources, systems, and key processes, reviewing system and application logs, and verifying completion of scheduled jobs
• Supervise & mentor junior systems engineers to handle infrastructure & systems events and provide response actions in case of incidents & issues.
• Developing & maintaining infrastructure documentation.
• Develop & present infrastructure availability & performance reports Including (but not limited to) Servers & systems events, performance issues, resources availability and utilization.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in IT, Computer Science, Engineering, or relevant study.
• 3 - 4 Years relevant experience.
• Working Experience multiple operating systems; specifically with Linux multiple distributions (Redhat, CentOS, Ubuntu ...etc...); administration that includes but not limited to: installation, configuration & management
• Experience with data centers (build, operate & maintain).
• Excellent knowledge with hands-on experience with the following technologies:
  ⦁ Virtualization Technologies:
  • VMware ESXi
  • Proxmox
• Storage management & configuration (SAN, NAS, Longhorn ...etc...)
• Backup policies & best practices
• Experience with software management - installations, patching of OS/apps, etc.
• Experience with DevOps tools: Git, Ansible, docker, Kubernetes, Jenkins, Terraform; is a big advantage
• Experience with performance tuning and diagnosing system bottlenecks
• through root cause analysis.
• Experience with Monitoring software and solutions such as [Prometheus, Nagios, Zabbix, Grafana, New relic ...etc.].
• Basic Knowledge of networks & firewalls will be an added advantage.
• Knowledge of compliance frameworks: PCI, ISO27001 is a big advantage.
