Product Compliance & Risk Senior Manager - Brazil

We’re looking for a Product Compliance & Risk Senior Manager to join our growing Product Compliance team in LATAM, to support the Brazil team. This is an exciting, hands-on opportunity working directly with product managers, analysts and engineers to launch and manage compliant products. You will be based in London, UK with frequent travel to Brazil.
Your mission:
Wise has already pioneered new ways for people to transfer money across borders and currencies. Our customers can also manage their hard-earned money with the World’s first platform to offer true international multi-currency accounts. Your mission is to enable our Brazil product teams to launch new products and manage our risk profile through a deep understanding of the regulatory requirements and the Regulator’s expectations around them.
This is a first line Product Compliance role. Here’s how you’ll be contributing to the Brazil Product Compliance & Risk team:
Collaborate on Product Design:
Deeply understand regulatory needs and translate them into solutions for the Product
Empower Product Teams to build risk based products, processes, and controls
Collaborate to design practical and customer-oriented product solutions while ensuring full compliance of the product
Perform pre-launch and ongoing product compliance financial crime and regulatory analysis and risk assessments
Design scalable and customer-centric solutions to regulatory requirements; and
Offer effective advice to Product Managers on existing and forthcoming Regulations, gaps, and risks.
Manage and Mitigate Regulatory Risks and the Control Environment:
As part of the Product Compliance & Risk Team, with Brazil focus, you will identify and manage Regulatory Risks across all products offered to customers in Brazil
Oversee the control environment for our Brazilian offering, designing effective, creative and targeted controls, and evaluating the residual risk exposure
Collaborate with 2LOD Compliance colleagues, to ensure Wise Product Teams are constantly aware of the most recent regulations and guidance and
Work with Product Teams and the wider Risk & Compliance Team to implement and maintain Management Information that enables Wise to make informed decisions at the regional and Global levels.
Audit, issue management and remediation:
Oversee audit responses and, where required, challenge audit findings in collaboration with Compliance second line and Product teams
Develop and deliver effective issue management to mitigate regulatory risks and
Represent Wise in meetings with Banking Partners and Central Banks, being able to clearly and effectively articulate Wise’s products and compliance framework.

About you:
Expert in regulatory and fincrime compliance having a background in Financial Regulation and a thorough knowledge of Brazilian Central Bank resolutions that apply Payments Institutions and institutions that operate in the Foreign Exchange market (e.g. Resolution 96/2021, Resolution 277/2022, Circular 3,978/2020, Resolution 1/2020 and other BCB regulations relevant to Wise product suite
Ability to analyze and interpret complex regulatory frameworks and apply them effectively
You have experience dealing with regulatory audits and understand the expectations of local regulators/policymakers in Brazil
Experience collaborating with product and engineering teams to develop KYC and/or financial crime controls
Ability to effectively communicate regulatory requirements with Product Managers and Engineers and provide practical, actionable, and value added recommendations
Experience (or interest) in working in a fast-growing environment and working directly with product teams
Problem solving attitude, with the ability to use regulation together with data to drive business decisions
A natural owner, that drives and delivers project from inception to completion, timely and with attention to the details
A true team player with a collaborative spirit and the ability to work effectively with different stakeholders across global teams
A sense of camaraderie and good humour while under pressure or tight deadlines and
Wisdom, a world view and talent for thinking outside the box
Willingness to travel, as Wise offices are located across different countries, especially to the Sao Paulo office
