Role Impact
As our sole Product Designer, you'll own the entire design process and shape the future of how thousands of restaurants understand and improve their customer experience. You'll have the unique opportunity to build and evolve our design system from the ground up while working in a fast-paced startup environment.
Job Overview
As the Lead Product Designer, you'll fully own our design process and direction. We are looking for someone curious and passionate about investigating customer needs, specifically focusing on user journeys, intuitive design, and delivering data insights in visually appealing and clean ways. A strong portfolio of successful products, features, or other technical projects, and experience enhancing a design system are essential. You should have proficiency in fundamental visual and interaction design disciplines and principles and have an outstanding eye for pixel-perfect detail. You will be working with stakeholders across the company - product managers, engineers, sales, customer success, and marketing - to create, deliver, and test our customer feedback insights product.
Responsibilities
- Work through design problems from beginning to end: translating research and analytical insights into ideas that form new products and features, then designing the workflows and detailed interactions to realize them
- Visualizing data insights: working with our data team to deliver visually appealing and intuitive insights to our customers
- Sketch and prototype ideas to quickly access viability, and design detailed interactions
- Enhance our brand's design system
- Iterate based on feedback from the entire team
- Work closely with the Head of Product and engineers as they build and ship ideas
- Drive design decisions independently while collaborating with cross-functional teams
- Balance quick iterations with long-term design vision
- Adapt quickly to changing priorities and requirements typical in a fast-paced startup environment
- Own the success or failure of design work
Qualifications
- Established performance with experience designing digital products and a design system. You have worked closely with product and engineering to ship products
- Demonstrated experience designing clear and intuitive UX
- Designed UIs that can be accessed on desktop, tablet, and mobile
- Interest in the behavioral psychology behind the user journey
- An appreciation of the entire product development process, from problem-solving through to detailed UI and visual design
- The ability to create breathtaking high-fidelity mockups of your designs using Figma and accessing data from Pendo
- Strong leadership skills and the ability to be self-directed when needed
- Thrives in ambiguous situations and can create structure where needed
- Experience working in resource-constrained environments
- Track record of shipping features in fast-paced environments
- A curiosity to learn and adapt as new and different challenges constantly emerge
- Comfortable working in a dynamic design process where we let quantitative and qualitative customer data guide our designs
- Solid written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present a strong rationale for design decisions
- Demonstrated history of acquiring user data (e.g., conducting usability studies, performing user research) is a big plus
- Experience working with software developers in an Agile/Scrum environment is a plus
