The Role

The Content Marketer will be an integral part of the marketing team, responsible for developing and executing a content strategy that drives brand awareness, engagement, and lead generation. As an avid reader and researcher, you will craft compelling content that showcases Smile ID's thought leadership and industry expertise. Previous professional writing experience for a B2B company and in-depth knowledge of on-page SEO are essential for success in this role.

This role reports directly to our Director of Marketing, Peace Itimi, with close collaboration with the visual designer and product marketer on the team.

Primary Responsibilities

Social Media Management: Oversee and manage Smile ID's social media profiles on LinkedIn and Twitter, ensuring consistent engagement and brand presence.
Newsletter Creation: Write and distribute a biweekly industry newsletter that informs and adds value to our subscribers.
Reports and Guides: Produce insightful quarterly and half-year reports and guides to generate Marketing Qualified Leads (MQLs).
Blog Writing: Publish weekly blog articles aimed at increasing website traffic and improving SEO rankings, particularly in specific target countries
SEO Strategy: Develop and implement an SEO strategy that includes keyword research, on-page optimisations, and the tracking of rankings to increase organic search visibility and traffic.
Data Analysis: Regularly analyse performance data to understand the effectiveness of content strategies and identify areas for improvement.

What We’re Looking For

Qualifications:

Experience: At least 3 years of content marketing or related experience, specifically within a B2B environment in Africa.
SEO Expertise: In-depth knowledge of on-page SEO to optimise content for search engines and drive organic traffic.
Professional Writing: Proven track record of producing high-quality, engaging content for a professional audience.
Research Skills: Adept at conducting thorough research to underpin content with accurate, relevant information.
