You’ll develop, manage, and deploy backend cloud infrastructure; build APIs and dashboards; debug customer issues; and solve technical and data-related problems to ensure application stability and high-quality deployments.ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES- Lead design, development, and maintenance of full‑stack features using Next.js, Elixir (Phoenix/LiveView), Python, and Postgres.- Partner with the CTO on architecture, tradeoffs, and scalable system designs.- Provide hands-on technical leadership, code reviews, mentoring, and best practices.- Drive technical decision-making; participate in planning, scoping, and system design.- Translate complex requirements into performant, secure, well-structured solutions.- Improve backend APIs, data models, and service boundaries.- Build high-quality UX with Next.js, optimizing for performance and accessibility.- Debug and resolve production issues across the stack.- Advocate for engineering excellence: architecture, documentation, testing, operations.- Collaborate with design and research/operations to deliver reliable, intuitive features.REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS- 5+ years professional full‑stack engineering experience (SaaS or similar).- Strong modern frontend experience (React; Next.js a plus).- Deep experience with at least one backend language (Elixir, Python, Node, etc.); willingness to work heavily in Elixir and Python.- Solid relational database design/SQL performance with Postgres at scale.- Experience designing complex systems, APIs, and data flows.- Strong debugging across front‑end, back‑end, and infrastructure.- Experience in architecture discussions and technical decision‑making.- Excellent communication and cross‑functional collaboration.PREFERRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCE- Production experience with Elixir/Phoenix.- Observability (logging, metrics, tracing, alerting).- Containerized/orchestrated environments; CI/CD best practices.- Knowledge of distributed systems and scaling.- Mentoring/leading projects or influencing technical direction.- Startup or fast‑paced environment experience.- Interest in security, reliability, and performance optimization.WORKING STYLE & LOGISTICS: Remote-first; some travel (10%) for key events; manage deadlines and communication across time zones.HOW TO APPLY: Submit resume or LinkedIn, optional performance examples, and portfolio of production shipped products.
