Particle Health
About Particle
Particle Health is revolutionizing healthcare data analytics and interoperability. Our mission is to unlock the power of medical records in an intelligent platform that focuses health back on the patient.
Through our modern data platform, we enable healthcare innovators—ranging from value-based care providers and payers to digital health companies and health systems—to access standardized, real-time patient data. By bridging fragmented data silos, Particle empowers organizations to tackle critical use cases such as care coordination, risk stratification, patient identity management, and regulatory compliance with ease and precision.
Our solutions of Snapshot, Signal, Navigator, and Workbench address the complex challenges of healthcare data analytics and interoperability, helping our customers transform data into actionable insights, improve patient outcomes, and streamline workflows.
The Role
We’re seeking an Associate, Customer Compliance & Network Engagement with 3–5 years of experience to be a foundational member of our compliance team. Reporting to the Technical Compliance Lead (who reports into the Chief Legal Officer), this role will play a critical part in enforcing compliance activities at Particle and building trust across the national health information exchange ecosystem.
You’ll partner with our Solutions team to embed compliance programs into technical implementations for customer accounts and pre-sales engineering efforts. You’ll also help triage and manage inbound requests from the community of implementers on national networks, ensuring timely and accurate responses that demonstrate our commitment to compliance and operational excellence.
In addition, this role offers exceptional growth potential and a chance to make a significant impact with opportunities to support executive-level analysis and inquiries. Your work will give you exposure across departments, with direct exposure to:
- Company Strategy: Your frontline insights into network policy and customer use cases provide opportunity to inform our product roadmap and strategic decisions.
- Industry Innovation: You'll be at the forefront of the evolving healthcare data landscape, helping Particle navigate and pioneer new approaches to interoperability.
- Accelerated Skill Development: This is a unique opportunity to rapidly grow your personal and professional skills across high-demand areas, from advanced SQL and data analysis to strategic policy interpretation and stakeholder management.
Eligible candidates must be based in New York City, San Francisco, or Chicago. NYC applicants: The team works in-office two days per week (Tuesdays and Thursdays), so applicants must be located within commuting distance and comfortable with in-person collaboration.
What You’ll Do
- Support the Technical Compliance Lead in enforcing and operationalizing compliance programs across the organization.
- Partner with the Solutions team to ensure compliance requirements are integrated into technical implementations for customer accounts and pre-sales activities for prospective customers.
- Manage, triage, and respond to inbound requests from the community of implementers on national health data networks, supporting secure and trusted health data exchange.
- Monitor compliance workflows and help drive process improvements that strengthen trust with networks, customers, and regulators.
- Learn and apply regulatory frameworks governing healthcare interoperability and data exchange (e.g., TEFCA, HIPAA).
- Support the Chief Legal Officer with documentation and distribution of new compliance policies across Particle functions & governance teams.
- Use SQL or similar tools to analyze customer query patterns, generate audit reports, and review national network activity for compliance audits and investigations.
What We’re Looking For
- 3+ years of professional work experience. Prior experience in compliance, solutions, or technical operations is a plus, but not required. Above all, we’re looking for professionalism, initiative, accountability, and follow-through.
- Ability to query a database using SQL (or demonstrated technical aptitude to learn quickly).
- Experience in customer-facing, external communications, or account support roles.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain complex ideas clearly.
- Comfort with ambiguity and enthusiasm for helping build new processes and standards as an early member of a growing function.
Nice to Have
- Experience working with healthcare data or interoperability standards.
- Familiarity with healthcare regulatory frameworks (HIPAA, TEFCA, etc.).
- Experience in a high-growth startup or SaaS environment.
