Part-Time
Operant is seeking a UI/UX software engineer to lead design for our product UI. The ideal candidate will bring prior experience of building elegant and user-friendly experiences from the ground up, along with the ability to rapidly iterate as the tech stack and product evolves. Someone with a keen eye for user experience but also adaptive to a fast paced startup environment would do well is this role. Bonus points if you are able to translate these designs into code. Who We Are:
At Operant, we are building a transformational Application Security product for cloud-native security engineering teams. Operant's product brings industry-first runtime analytics and enforcement capabilities that secure modern apps across every layer of the cloud native stack. We are passionate about bringing state of the art technological innovations that our founding team has built on from Operating Systems/Distributed Systems/ML to the world of cloud-native security, and building a product that is ready to take on the rising complexity and massive scale of today’s cloud native applications.
Responsibilities:
- Work closely with the founding team to understand product requirements and translate that to our product design framework
- Directly impact our product experience and visual design language
- Build UI flows showcasing our rich runtime analytics and enforcement capabilities
- Work closely with engineering and GTM teams to rapidly iterate the product
- Lead key UI/UX projects by designing end-to-end user workflows and ensuring the design integrity of our implementation
- Build and maintain product branding, style guides and relevant documentation
- Apply your expertise and experience into building frontend technologies and prototypes
Basic Qualifications:
- 3+ years of SaaS product design experience with a strong portfolio
- Experience leading the design and implementation of complex products
- Solid experience in creating storyboards, user flows and wireframes
- Advanced knowledge design tools (Figma, Adobe suite) and common frontend technologies (React, Node.js, TypeScript, HTML, CSS, GraphQL, etc.)
- Strong asynchronous communicator, particularly in a fully remote environment
- Deep knowledge of trends and design best practices
- Demonstrated interest in continual learning and self-improvement
