The Mission
At OneAssure, we aren't just selling policies; we are tearing down the legacy walls of the Indian health insurance sector. To build a highly available, multi-tier discovery and distribution engine, we need an unbreakable foundation. We are looking for a Platform Engineering Intern to join our core team. You won't just be building features; you will be building the forge where all features are made.
Who You Are
You are a systems thinker and the ultimate aspiring generalist. We know that a fresher won't walk through the door with a masterclass in multi-cloud Kubernetes federation or SOC2 compliance. What we do expect is a relentless, obsessive appetite to learn how large-scale systems actually work under the hood Reliably.
This is an umbrella role. You will get exposure, oppurtunity, & mentoring across the entire engineering domain: from cloud infrastructure and security to data pipelines and site reliability. If your idea of fun involves tearing down a Linux OS, setting up a home lab, debugging an application's 503 / 504 status code or figuring out why a network packet was dropped, you belong here.
What You'll Ship & Own
The Foundation Builder: You will write reusable technology modules and core libraries in Golang and Python that empower the rest of the engineering team to move faster and safer.
The Multi-Cloud Orchestrator: You will learn to treat infrastructure as software. You'll get hands-on with AWS, GCP, Azure, and Bare Metal environments, orchestrating containers via Docker and Kubernetes.
Infrastructure as Code (IaC) & Resilience: You will help architect Business Continuity (BCP) and Disaster Recovery (DR) strategies. You will leverage Terraform, Terragrunt, Helm, Ansible, Argo Workflows, and Jenkins to ensure our infrastructure is reproducible, scalable, and resilient.
The Guardian of the Gates (DevSecOps): You will be heavily involved in securing our public-facing applications against vulnerabilities (VAPT & OWASP). You’ll learn the art of encryption, managing secrets (via Kubernetes External Secrets, HashiCorp Vault), and locking down physical/network security on the cloud using VPNs.
Governance & Compliance: You will help us ensure our infrastructure doesn't just run well, but runs legally and securely, aligning with strict IRDAI (ISNP), ISO 27001 and SOC2 Type 2 compliance standards through periodic assessments.
Data Pipelines & Observability: You will assist in the creation and maintenance of robust data pipelines and Business Intelligence (BI) tools, ensuring data flows securely and reliably across our ecosystem.
The AI Pragmatist (Infra Edition): You leverage AI to write boilerplate Terraform or parse complex logs, but you never blindly deploy LLM-generated IAM policies or security groups. You understand the core concepts enough to spot when the AI is hallucinating a critical vulnerability.
Your Arsenal (Qualifications)
The Mindset: A deeply ingrained curiosity about how things work. You aren't satisfied with a "Hello World" app; you want to know how the traffic reached the server, how the DNS resolved, how the memory was allocated and why it spiked when your server is at a certain throughput.
The Core Fundamentals: A strong grasp of Linux operating systems, basic networking (TCP/IP, DNS, BGP, ARP, NAT), and strong exposure to programming languages such as Python or GoLang.
The Proof of Passion: We don't expect a polished resume of enterprise experience. We do expect proof of interest. Show us a messy but functional Dockerized side project, a script you wrote to automate a personal task, your GitHub contributions, a home lab setup that you did or a bare metal K8s setup that you did, application vulnerabilities you identified, IAC setup you did in the past, or tell us about a time you accidentally broke your system and had to fix it from the command line. You are welcome to show any opensource contributions you did or any tools / libraries that you have opensourced. It can also include work such as a K8s Cluster setup with Gateway Controllers, Ingestion Webhooks, Service Mesh setup with custom Networking Policies.
The Communicator: Exceptional analytical skills, a low ego, and the ability to read dense documentation without losing your mind.
