About the Role:

As an early Sales Development Representative (SDR) at MagicPort, you will be the tip of the spear for our growth engine. You’ll be responsible for the top-of-funnel, driving the pipeline necessary to fuel our 3x+ annual growth trajectory. In this role, you will qualify high-intent inbound leads while aggressively prospecting and cold-calling new shipping accounts across all categories around the world. Reporting directly to the CEO, you will help shape our sales playbook from the ground up as we scale from $1M to $10M+ in ARR.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Outbound prospecting: research target accounts within the shipping industry, craft tailored outreach, and execute multi-touch sequences across email, phone, and social, focusing on "touches that count."
  • Inbound lead qualification: respond rapidly to incoming leads, conduct discovery to confirm their fit, and route high-potential leads to Account Executives (AE) for closing.
  • Strategic prospecting: research and map key decision-makers within target maritime and logistics accounts to build a high-quality, strategic pipeline.
  • Lead qualification: use a clear framework (ICP, pain points, authority, timing, budget) to validate lead quality and ensure the team focuses on high-potential deals.
  • Handle initial sales conversations: handle initial objections to win the first meeting, address common pushbacks, add value in each conversation by helping leads to understand their problems and whether we can help solve them.
  • Meeting Coordination & Handoff: Secure and schedule qualified meetings, providing AEs with clear context and strategic next steps to ensure a seamless handover.
  • CRM and Data Integrity: carefully log activities in CRM to keep accurate records to make sure leads do not fall through the cracks; prepare activity reports to analyze performance and conversion rates.
  • Feedback loop: bring key front-line insights back to sales and product teams to refine our, sales and marketing approach, messaging, and sequences.
