About this Role

At MagicPort, we're rapidly building and expanding our product portfolio. As a Customer Solutions & Implementation Engineer, you'll be a critical technical liaison, working directly with our customers to bring our exciting SaaS and data solutions to life. You'll blend deep technical expertise with strong customer engagement, helping to solve real-world problems in the maritime industry. You will get the opportunity to shape our professional services and implementation team in the making.

What you will do:

  • Customer Engagement & Solution Design: Work directly with prospective and existing customers remote and on-site to understand their unique operational challenges, business needs, and technical environments. Translate these insights into practical, impactful solutions involving our platform and solutions.
  • Proof-of-Concept (POC) Development: Design, develop, and deliver compelling POCs that showcase the power of MagicPort's platform and solutions. This includes integrating various MagicPort software and third-party solutions, demonstrating AI/ML capabilities, creating intelligent models (often using complex JSON rules generated via AI), and building interactive dashboards and reports.
  • Technical Implementation & Integration: Provide hands-on training, technical guidance and support during the implementation phase. This may involve configuring low-code integration solutions (e.g., Boomi), assisting with data ingestion and migration, and ensuring seamless integration with customer systems.
  • AI/LLM & Workflow Prototyping: Collaborate with customers to build agentic workflows and prototypes, leveraging AI and Large Language Models to automate processes and enhance decision-making within port call operations.
  • Reporting & Dashboard Creation: Develop custom reports and intuitive dashboards (potentially using tools like Power BI, Reporting Services, or Crystal Reports) that provide customers with actionable insights from their data.
  • Technical Consulting & Support: Act as a trusted technical advisor, providing expert guidance, troubleshooting issues, and ensuring customer success and satisfaction with our solutions. Assist customers in optimizing their internal processes and workflows to align with the new software's capabilities.
  • Feedback & Collaboration: Gather critical customer feedback to inform product development, collaborating closely with our product and engineering teams to drive continuous improvement.
  • Help MagicPort Platform Vision: Work closely with the core product teams at MagicPort to share product vision and roadmaps towards.

What you will need:

  • You're genuinely excited about our mission to transform the maritime industry with intelligence, automation and connectivity.
  • Founder mentality and a strong sense of ownership: You can set goals, manage deadlines, and execute autonomously.
  • Exceptional problem-solving skills, with a knack for understanding complex technical and business challenges.
  • Strong empathy for customers, coupled with a solid understanding of software and technology. Experience with B2B SaaS solutions.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, for technical and non-technical audiences.
  • A collaborative spirit and a good listening ear, enabling effective teamwork.
  • Demonstrable experience with AI/ML concepts, including familiarity with data science, business analytics, and data tools/programs.
  • Experience in building reports and dashboards (e.g., Power BI, Reporting Services, Crystal Reports) is a significant advantage.
  • Familiarity with low-code integration platforms (e.g., Boomi) is a plus.
  • Previous experience in starting a business or product management is desirable.

Previous experience in shipping and logistics would be an advantage but is not necessary. We're looking to hire talented, entrepreneurial business builders with diverse backgrounds.
