About the role

You will be a key member of our maritime intelligence team. We have strong focus on engineering excellence, we believe in real partnership within the product teams among different roles to build great products. You will be paired with a visionary product lead to work in a small team on exciting data products. You will also support other products and overall MagicPort tech infrastructure where needed.

What you will do:

· Oversee the data pipeline process - from data acquisition, cleaning, and preprocessing to analysis and insight generation, ensuring high levels of accuracy and consistency.

· Work with engineers to gather data from various sources in multiple formats, identify and rectify errors, inconsistencies, and missing data within datasets.

· Ensure data quality, integrity, and security throughout the data lifecycle.

· Apply advanced querying techniques, statistical techniques, and data visualization tools to analyze datasets and extract actionable insights, create reports and dashboards to present analytical findings.

· Propose, design, and implement automated data processing systems and frameworks to enhance analysis efficiency.

· Develop and maintain documentation including data dictionaries, procedure manuals, and workflow diagrams to ensure transparency and reproducibility.

· Document all data collection, transformation, and analysis processes to ensure that other team members can replicate data-related tasks independently.

· Lead development and implementation of advanced analytical strategies to address complex business challenges, utilizing your expertise in statistical modeling and other data analysis techniques.

· Manage data-driven projects from conception to completion, liaising with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment with business objectives.

· Stay updated with the latest trends in AI and data analytics, take leadership in incorporating these solutions to our platform and products.

What you will need:

Job qualifications and skill sets:

· A bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Economics, or related field. A master’s degree in these fields is preferred.

· A minimum of 3-5 years of professional experience in a data analysis or related role.

· Strong knowledge of SQL and statistical methods for analyzing data, statistical testing and forecasting.

· Proficiency in programming languages such as Python and R, with a proven track record of leveraging these skills to solve real-world business problems.

· Experience with data visualization tools (Power BI, Looker, Tableau) is a plus.

· Ability to handle multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.

· Superior communication skills, with the ability to interact with business users to identify their needs and translate them into analytical tasks.

· Ability to translate complex analytical concepts and results into business insights and actionable recommendations to non-technical stakeholders.

· Strong problem-solving, critical-thinking, and project management skills, ability to prioritize tasks, proactively manage them, and meet established deadlines.

· Being a self-starter and good team player in diverse teams.

· Excellent command of written and spoken English.

· Previous experience in maritime-tech or related industries is a plus.
