About the role

You will be a key member of our product team. We have strong focus on engineering excellence, we believe in real partnership within the product teams between the product and engineering leads You will be paired with a visionary product lead to work in a small team on exciting SaaS and data products. You will also support other products and overall MagicPort tech infrastructure in your expertise areas.

What you will do:

Leadership & Management

· Provide technical guidance and mentorship to a small team of engineers, helping them grow their skills and capabilities.

· Build a strong engineering team by identifying talent needs and participate in the hiring process.

· Set performance goals, conduct performance reviews, and offer regular feedback to team members.

· Work with the leadership team to ensure engineering team can deliver the company’s goals.

Technical Leadership

· Design and oversee the software and system architecture, ensuring it aligns with business goals and can scale with growth. Choose technologies and tools.

· Actively participate in coding, often taking on complex tasks or critical parts of the projects to support the engineering team.

· Maintain high standards of code quality through regular code reviews and the implementation of best practices.

· Develop and maintain a technology roadmap that supports the company’s short-term and long-term goals. Stay up to date with industry trends and emerging technologies.

Project Management

· Develop and manage project timelines, ensuring that the engineering team can prioritize and meets its deliverables on time, properly allocate resources to meet goals.

· Identify potential risks and develop mitigation strategies to keep projects on track.

· Implement and maintain agile methodologies to improve team productivity and flexibility.

Teamwork and communication

· Work in close partnership with the product lead and engineering team to organize and deliver best teamwork, align with the leadership team to deliver company goals.

· Report on project progress, challenges, and solutions to relevant stakeholders, interact with customers to understand their needs and feedback.

· Build a great teamwork and transparent environment within the team, so everyone can give and take feedback. Foster a positive, collaborative, and innovative team culture.

· Encourage continuous learning and professional development within the team.

What you will need:

Job qualifications and skill sets:

· A bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or related field. A master’s degree in these fields is preferred.

· Proven experience in leading engineering teams and delivering successful software projects.

· Strong coding skills, experience in designing and overseeing software and system architecture, good understanding relevant technologies and tools.

· A strong sense of ownership, and being a self-starter and good team player. Ability to build and lead top performing teams.

· Great communication skills, commitment to radical truthfulness, fostering open and honest communication within the team.

· Ability to handle multiple deliverables and priorities in a fast-paced environment.

· Excellent command of written and spoken English.

· Experience in Azure, AWS, GCP is a plus.

· PHP, Laravel, C# background is a plus.
