About The Role
We are seeking a driven and highly experienced Vice President - Strategic Accounts to join our growing employer sales organization. This is a senior individual-contributor, quota-carrying role that will serve as Journey’s primary employer sales position, owning qualified new-business opportunities across Journey’s target market.
This individual will be expected to proactively generate pipeline among employers with 10,000 or more employees while also working qualified opportunities with employers of 1,000 or more employees that originate through Consultant Relations, marketing, partnerships, inbound interest, and other channels.
The ideal candidate is an exceptional enterprise seller with a demonstrated ability to create opportunities, navigate complex buying processes, and close significant new-logo business.
In this job, you will:
- Proactively build pipeline among employers with 10,000 or more employees while owning qualified opportunities with employers of 1,000 or more employees that originate through Consultant Relations, marketing, partnerships, inbound interest, and other channels.
- Drive the full sales cycle, from initial outreach and discovery through solution development, finalist presentations, contract negotiation, and close.
- Build relationships with benefits leaders, consultants, and brokers to uncover opportunities, engage key decision-makers, and accelerate deal cycles.
- Leverage an in-depth understanding of the employer benefits space and Journey’s value proposition to position Journey as a trusted partner.
- Navigate complex buying processes, including RFPs, procurement, contracting, and security and legal review.
- Consistently achieve or exceed quarterly and annual sales targets by securing new-logo business.
- Maintain rigorous opportunity management and accurate forecasting, with clear next steps, risks, stakeholders, and close plans.
- Partner with Consultant Relations, marketing, customer success, infosec, legal, and product to advance opportunities and ensure a strong handoff once a client is secured.
Requirements (What makes you a great fit for this role):
- 10+ years of enterprise sales experience with a consistent record of achieving or exceeding new-business targets.
- Demonstrated success personally generating pipeline and closing complex, high-value new-business opportunities with large employers, including Fortune 500 companies or equivalent organizations.
- Deep knowledge of the employer benefits or healthcare ecosystem, with established relationships among benefits leaders, consultants, and brokers and the ability to build new ones.
- Exceptional ability to lead consultative sales processes and navigate complex buying cycles, including RFPs, procurement, negotiation, contracting, and executive decision-making.
- Strong opportunity-management, forecasting, and CRM discipline, with the ability to operate independently and resourcefully in a growing company.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey Journey’s value proposition to diverse stakeholders and collaborate effectively with executives and cross-functional teams.

- Compensation. The base salary range for this role is $175,000–$225,000. This role also includes target variable compensation equal to base salary, resulting in total on-target earnings of $350,000–$450,000, plus equity. Compensation may vary based on skills, experience, and location.
