Responsibilities

As Founding Engineer at Century Health, you will play a pivotal role in building our technology strategy, product, and culture. This is a unique opportunity to be part of the foundational team, driving the development of cutting-edge solutions that will transform healthcare. You will work closely with the founders and engineering team to build a scalable, robust platform that incorporates data processing, artificial intelligence, user experience, and beautiful design, making faster treatment options a reality for patients worldwide.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Lead the design, development, and deployment of our AI-powered healthcare data platform, focusing on scalability, security, and user experience.
• Own and ship product features from inception to implementation at startup velocity.
• Collaborate with clinical researchers and biopharma end users to translate complex clinical requirements into technical solutions.
• Work closely with, and in the future manage, a small team of junior software engineers, providing mentorship, work stream management, and technical guidance.
• Establish and maintain a high standard of code quality, documentation, and development practices.
• Be a driving force in strategic planning, technology selection, and architecture decisions.
• Contribute to creating a culture of shipping, quality, feedback, and continuous learning within the team.

Qualifications

As a full stack engineer with experience in front and back end development, your skillset should contain the following:

• Deep full stack technical skillsetFront end: ReactJS (Redux), JavaScript (ES6+), HTML5/ CSS3 (Bootstrap, MaterialUI) Back end: NodeJS, database management (SQL and NoSQL), API development Infrastructure: cloud platforms, containerization (Docker, K8s), CI/CD (CircleCI, Jenkins)
• Knowledge of security best practices, including data protection and authentication methods like OAuth, JWT, and SOC2.
• Basic understanding of design principles and tools like Figma. Ability to translate designs into functional user interfaces.
• Proficiency with version control tools, particularly Git.
• Experience with testing frameworks and methodologies for both frontend (Jest, React Testing Library) and backend (Mocha, Jest for Node).
