AscendArc is a seed stage startup founded to revolutionize the satellite communications industry. We are looking for individuals with a bias for action who want to work in a hardware rich environment focused on rapid iteration. Our success will depend on your energy, commitment, skill, and creativity.

Responsibilities

Lead the systems engineering of a communications satellite. Develop mass, power, thermal, propulsion and link budgets. Work across multiple engineering disciplines and provide a technical interface to customers and suppliers. Write requirements, develop verification programs, and take responsibility for the overall performance of the satellite system. Set best practices and procedures, lead and mentor junior engineers.

Qualifications

Experience with systems design for satellite and communications systems

Experience with Systems engineering requirements and verification process

Experience with most or all of the following:

Communications link design

Radio frequency payload design

Spacecraft systems including

  • Structures
  • Power
  • Thermal
  • Attitude control
  • Telemetry

Experience with spacecraft and systems qualification and acceptance testing

Experience mentoring junior engineers

Ability to thrive in a startup environment

BS or higher in mechanical, electrical, aerospace engineering or related fields

10+ years of experience
