Black Ballad is looking for Freelancer Social Media Creators to join our marketing team. This role is open to applicants from across the UK, who are happy to work remotely and travel four times a year for team days.

Black Ballad is building a team of social media freelancers who knows how to communicate & engage with black women in Britain. Specially, we are looking for creators that can work on Black Ballad's Instagram, X (Twitter) & TikTok. As a member of the Black Ballad Freelance Network, you will have a knack for creating social media content that gets the people going and use that skill to turn BB articles, events, perks, campaigns & more into posts that help black women on their journey living their best lives.

This is a freelance role paying £20 - £27.50 per hour (£160 - £220 day rate), depending on experience, with the expected workload of roughly 10 hours a week.

Responsibilities

• Distribute & share Black Ballad Experiences (BB Membership, content, events, perks etc) in ways that make black women want to comment, share in their group chats & dive deeper into the world of Black Ballad
• Create original social content & curate engaging content that keeps black women joyful, informed & always anticipating what BB will do next
• Collaborate with the Black Ballad Marketing team and BB’s Freelance Network to co-create, co-produce and co-distribute content across multiple platforms, to make sure black women see the best of Black Ballad wherever they are
• Regularly document the performance of your content by finding and recording social media and website analytics.
• Participate in collective and individual feedback sessions to continuously iterate on our strategy and keep us stay focused on helping black women live their best lives

Skills & Qualifications

• A portfolio of your ability to create social media content that black women love, either through previous experience, or your side hustle / finsta / personal page
• The ability to create engaging content specific to your chosen social media channel is a must.
• You will likely need to be confident in creating visual social media content & assets that black women love & want to share, so you most likely know your way around Canva, Adobe Creative Suite or similar
• Comfortable using social media & website analytics tools to help you figure how to become an even better creator
• Highly curious, motivated, proactive and adaptable
• Ability to think creatively and bring ideas to the table
• Strong written, verbal & virtual communication skills

Pay & Perks

• Approximately 10 hours per week at £20 - £25 p/h (depending on experience)
• Opportunity to work on commercial projects at higher hourly rates (recent clients include Google, Warner Bros & NHS)
• First refusal to attend events on Black Ballad’s behalf (screenings, shows, afterparties etc)
• Work remotely, with the requirement of meeting up for a team day four times a year (expenses paid)

• Trial work - After the interview, we will ask you to complete a few tasks that should take you no more than four hours. You will be paid £100 for this work session.
• You’re in! - If your trial session is as successful as your application form and interview, we will ask you to join BB’s Freelance Network.
